Growing despite Coronavirus pandemic

The Austrian Software Industry Association (VÖSI) has reported that economic crisis left a trace on the software industry as well.  One in three IT companies in Austria has experienced a drop in demand and sales due to the lockdown.

Nevertheless, it is fair to say that the coronavirus crisis has given a massive boost to digitization. And even in view of the easing measures, digitization measures still remain in focus.

The SOP team quickly switched to the home/mobile office and continues to work almost undeterred. Many colleges and universities also switched to home office, which sometimes had its shortcomings, but generally worked well and continues to do so.

The webinars on EWP and IIA management held by our managing director Gerald Mauberger were very successful, which encouraged us to expand our webinar offerings.

The project team members - who are normally always on the move around the globe – had to rearrange and become more settled. They now offer online training sessions in virtually the same scope as before the crisis. The results have been very satisfying, while saving time and money on both sides and protecting the environment.

We want to continue focusing on the advantages of digitalization in the future. During the online training sessions, Mobility-Online users can discover the numerous possibilities that Mobility-Online opens up for them and learn in practice how our program makes everyday work easier.

Despite the difficult times, customer support has always been and still is our primary objective. For this reason, the SOP Team have been reinforced with four new team members joining the Mobility-Online Team since May. They are already busy with the internal training and will soon provide our customers with a fully competent and solution-oriented service.

Nonetheless we naturally lack the personal contact.

Since presently major organizers of education fairs cancel these events for the coming year, we also decided with a heavy heart not to host our Community Event 2021 in the form of real physical meetings due to the uncertain Covid-19 situation. However, we are already planning an online version, a large MObinar, a Mobility-ONLINE Community Event, where we will present the latest developments of Mobility-Online and give you the opportunity to participate in workshops and presentations – all online.

Even though we cannot fully reproduce the personal meeting, networking, socializing and chatting in an online environment, the health of our customers and employees is always the top priority at SOP. We hope for a healthy 2022.
